  Description

The cottage, tastefully decorated with the owner's own pottery and the paintings of her artist parents, consists of the restored original old peasant cottage plus two wings. The original part houses a large airy and light open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with wood burning stove. One wing consists of a hall, the main bedroom with en suite bathroom (separate shower and bath) and a single bedroom. The other wing consists of a twin bedroom with its own bathroom (shower) attached to the house via a shaded verandah. Every window has a wonderful view.

The cottage is surrounded by terraces and a colourful garden in which there are shady spots for relaxing and eating out. The swimming pool, at a lower level, catches all the sun. Parking is within the property.

NOTE. Change-over day is FRIDAY

NEARBY AMENITIES

The nearest country restaurant is five minutes by car. Other very good restaurants and shops (including small supermarkets and several bakers) are a quarter of an hour distant.At the coast, a half to three-quarters of an hour distant are big supermarkets.

There are several horse riding establishments around Jimena, tennis within the village and just outside, a go-cart establishment and a rare-bird park.

Half an hour away is the Ryder Cup golf course of Valdarrama and many other golf courses.
Boating and other water sports can also be had at the coast (including two waterparks), an open-air zoo,theatres and multi-cinis.

Having the Alcornocales Park on its doorstep the area is excellent for all aspects of natural history, particularly botany and bird watching. The wild flowers, particularly in May,have to be seen to be believed and otters live in the rivers.

In addition you are within a days visit of many wonderful old towns of historic and architectural interest and there are many archaeological sites to be visited including the Roman city of Baelo Claudia with its temples, forum, theatre and interesting garum pits. After the visit you can enjoy a fresh fish lunch in one of the small bars on the beach.
